BJJ FLINTA* Introductory Course – Humboldt University Berlin

Curious about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but don't know where to start? This 6-week introductory course is designed exclusively for Women*/FLINTA* participants and is open to complete beginners—no previous experience or special fitness level is required. Together, we’ll explore the fundamentals of BJJ, including movement, basic positions and techniques, breakfalls and self-defence, in a respectful and supportive safer-space environment.

A gi (kimono) and white belt are recommended but not required—you can participate in comfortable, tight-fitting sportswear such as leggings or shorts without pockets and a close-fitting shirt or rash guard. Please bring flip-flops or shower sandals for moving around outside the mats, and keep fingernails short; long or artificial nails are not permitted for safety reasons. Good personal hygiene and freshly washed training clothes are expected for every session.

New Women*/FLINTA* BJJ Courses – Winter Semester

New Women*/FLINTA* BJJ courses will start in the winter semester at both Technische Universität Berlin (TU) and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU). The courses are designed for complete beginners through to newer blue belts, so whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or have recently earned your blue belt, you’re very welcome to join. Students and non-students alike can register, and no previous BJJ experience is required. The focus is on learning, growing, and training together in a supportive safer-space environment.
